I started with jiu-jitsu, at Luiz Barboza’s academy, in João Pessoa, Paraíba, Northeast of Brazil, until I received the brown belt, later I decided to follow my steps alone.
One day I invited Tererê to give a seminar in my academy, in João Pessoa, Paraíba. On that time, Tererê was beginning the team TT together with Eduardo Telles , then after getting to know our academy he made me an invitation to stay a time at his academy, in São Paulo, where I was for several months. After two years I was graduated to black belt by Tererê and Eduardo Telles.
The came the end of the society between Telles and Tererê and, consequently, the end of the team TT, I was some months without representing any team. And after some months, through Rubens Charles (Cobrinha), I did contact with master Fábio Gurgel, I talked with him and we made a good agreement, after that I was received very well by everybody of his team.
I won several titles from championships in the northeast, some fights of MMA and submission and, few participations in big championships in the South and Southeast of my country (Brazil), Although the lack of appropriate financial conditions and lack of sponsors support, I didn't discourage and I was devoted to my academy, and through several students we conquered great placements in
national and international championships.
Now I divide my time among passing my knowledge in several academies of Europe, my academy in João Pessoa and, training in São Paulo, in master Fábio Gurgel's academy, where I can always improve my technique. I believe that I got to acquire a good knowledge, due to the fact of having gone by several schools, always getting great teachers, what comes surrendering good fruits. Where I pass, I have always been getting to find good answers for the students' frequent questions. I am very thrilled with the growth of the jiu-jitsu in Europe, because this is visible in their motivation, what also motivates a lot to continue my way.
I can not forget my family, my bride, the students that never left this dream, altough I stay a time out of my country. All those people that always motivated me to continue and to find the happiness doing what I love, BJJ.
